Riders is a 2002 action-thriller film directed by Gérard Pirès. The film stars Stephen Dorff as Slim, the leader of a group of adrenaline-junkie thieves who use extreme sports to pull off a series of bank heists. Along with Dorff, the film also features Natasha Henstridge, Steven Berkoff, and Bruce Payne in supporting roles.
As the film begins, Slim is shown to be a highly skilled criminal, with a talent for planning and executing daring heists. He leads a team of young daredevils, including a skateboarder, a motocross rider, and a snowboarder, who use their skills to evade the police and pull off daring robberies.
The first few heists go off without a hitch, but when the gang hits a bank and finds a cache of untraceable bonds worth $20 million, they immediately decide to retire. However, their retirement plans are cut short when they are approached by both the mob and a corrupt police detective, who want them to use their talents for their own purposes.
Slim reluctantly agrees to participate in one final heist, but quickly realizes that he and his team are in over their heads. With the stakes higher than ever before, the gang must use all of their skills and wits to survive and outsmart their dangerous new partners.
Riders is a fast-paced and high-octane action film with impressive stunt work and plenty of thrilling set pieces. While the plot may be somewhat predictable, the film's energy and excitement more than make up for it. Fans of heist movies and extreme sports will find plenty to enjoy in this adrenaline-fueled ride.
