The two peanut vendors, played by comedians Bud Abbott and Lou Costello, are named Duke and Willoughby and are known for causing trouble and getting into mischief. When they hide out on the train, they accidentally end up in the middle of a train robbery and are mistaken for the robbers by the sheriff.
After narrowly escaping the authorities, they arrive at the dude ranch and are hired as cowboys by the owner, who is desperate for help. Duke and Willoughby quickly realize they know nothing about cowboys or ranch life, but try their best to fit in. They end up causing chaos at the ranch, including accidentally releasing a herd of buffalo and causing a stampede.
In the midst of all the chaos, Duke and Willoughby also have to deal with a group of bandits who are trying to steal the ranch owner's land. They team up with some of the real cowboys at the ranch to stop the bandits and save the day.
Ride 'Em Cowboy is a classic Abbott and Costello comedy, packed with slapstick humor, musical numbers, and plenty of cowboy hijinks.
