The misfits who attempt to go Greek are a group of highly intelligent and socially awkward freshmen who are constantly bullied and ridiculed by the Alpha Betas. The main characters are Lewis and Gilbert, who decide to form their own fraternity called Lambda Lambda Lambda (Tri-Lambs) with the help of a computer genius named Wormser.
The Tri-Lambs are initially shunned by the other fraternities and sororities, but they slowly gain a following as they hold events such as a carnival and a charity fundraiser. Meanwhile, the Alpha Betas become increasingly hostile towards the Tri-Lambs and try to sabotage their events.
Lewis and his love interest, a sorority girl named Betty, also face a personal vendetta from Betty's ex-boyfriend, an Alpha Beta member named Stan, who physically assaults Lewis and frames him for vandalism. Despite these setbacks, the Tri-Lambs become a respected and popular fraternity on campus, and they even win the annual Greek Games competition.
However, the Alpha Betas are not willing to accept their defeat and launch a final attack on the Tri-Lambs. In an epic showdown, the Tri-Lambs demonstrate their intelligence and resourcefulness by outmaneuvering the Alpha Betas and ultimately emerging victorious.
Revenge of the Nerds is a classic 80s comedy that celebrates the triumph of the underdogs and challenges stereotypes about nerds and jocks.
