Richard Clarke, a successful businessman, lives a normal life until he is bitten by a vampire named Victoria. As the days pass, he begins to realize the consequences of his new undead life. He can no longer go out into the sunlight, and he craves human blood to survive.
Victoria teaches him how to control his urges so that he doesn't kill anyone, but Richard struggles with his newfound existence. His friends and family become suspicious of his strange behavior and his sudden aversion to sunlight.
As Richard tries to adapt to his new life, he meets another vampire named Marcella, who teaches him about the wider world of the supernatural. He learns that there are other creatures like him, including werewolves and witches, and that they all must coexist with humans without revealing their true natures.
The plot thickens when a group of vampire hunters begins to target Richard and the other vampires, threatening their existence. Richard must fight to protect himself and his new vampire community while grappling with his own inner demons.
