Return to the Blue Lagoon is a 1991 romantic adventure film directed by William A. Graham and starring Milla Jovovich and Brian Krause. It is a sequel to the 1980 film The Blue Lagoon and is loosely based on the novel The Garden of God by Henry De Vere Stacpoole.
The film begins with a ship carrying two families sinking in the South Pacific. The only survivors are two young children, Lilli (played by Jovovich) and Richard (played by Krause). They are stranded on a beautiful island and must learn to survive on their own. Over the years, they grow up and become tanned teenagers in love.
Their simple life is disrupted when they discover other people on a nearby island. They meet an old sailor named Paddy (played by Brian Blain) and a young woman named Sarah (played by Lisa Pelikan). Paddy teaches them about the outside world and Sarah becomes their friend.
However, their idyllic life is threatened when a group of pirates arrives on the island. Led by Captain Jacob Hilliard (played by Garette Ratliff Henson), they seize control of the island and the young lovers must fight to protect their home and their newfound friends.
Return to the Blue Lagoon was not as successful as its predecessor, but it still has a devoted following among fans of romantic adventure films. It was praised for its beautiful cinematography and the performances of Jovovich and Krause.
