In Resident Evil, Alice (played by Milla Jovovich) wakes up in a mansion with no memory of who she is or how she got there. She soon realizes that the mansion is owned by the Umbrella Corporation and is part of a secret underground laboratory called The Hive, where the corporation conducts illegal and unethical experiments on viruses and genetic engineering.
As Alice and her companions explore The Hive, they unwittingly release a deadly virus called the T-virus, which turns all humans and animals into ravenous zombies and other mutated creatures. The survivors, including Alice, Rain (played by Michelle Rodriguez), and other members of the special forces team, must fight their way through the Hive to shut down the lab's AI system and prevent the virus from being unleashed into the world.
Along the way, they encounter various mutated creatures, including zombie dogs and a massive genetically engineered creature called the Licker. They also discover that the Umbrella Corporation has been experimenting on Alice and has given her extraordinary abilities to help them achieve their goals.
Ultimately, Alice and her companions are betrayed by one of their own, and they must fight their way out of The Hive before it's too late. They learn that the T-virus has escaped and is spreading worldwide, setting the stage for the rest of the Resident Evil film franchise.
