"Lila Black" is a struggling vampire romance novelist living in San Francisco. She has her own demons to battle and her own problems to solve, but she's also fighting to keep her head above water while her literary career nosedives. To make matters worse, Lila and her mother are going on a Christmas vacation to Lake Tahoe.
The resort town is beautiful, and Lila thinks she'll be able to put her problems behind her for a few days. Unfortunately, strange things start happening as soon as she arrives, and she quickly learns that there's more to the town than meets the eye.
As Lila struggles to finish her latest novel before the New Year, she begins to suspect that there might be real-life vampires in Lake Tahoe. When she confronts them, she discovers that they're not the romantic monsters she's written about in her books, but ruthless and dangerous creatures that will stop at nothing to get what they want.
With the help of her mother and her new love interest, a handsome vampire hunter named "Jack," Lila must fight for her life against these deadly creatures. Can she outsmart them and save herself before it's too late?
