Recalled is a psychological thriller directed by Seo Yoo-min and stars Seo Ye-ji as Soo-jin, a woman who has recently lost her memory and is struggling to remember her past. She wakes up in a hospital after being in a car accident and is shocked to find out that she is a military wife.
Her husband is a soldier who has served in Afghanistan, and she is told that he is missing in action. Soo-jin is haunted by visions of a disturbing accident, but she cannot seem to piece together what has happened. She starts to have flashbacks of a woman who looks like her being trapped in a burning car.
Determined to uncover the truth about her past, she begins to investigate on her own and slowly starts to unravel the mystery surrounding her memory loss. As she digs deeper, she realizes she is not alone in her search for answers and finds herself in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse with those who do not want her to discover the truth.
The movie explores themes of memory loss, trauma, PTSD, and explores the challenges that military spouses face while dealing with loss and the after-effects that PTSD has on veterans.
Overall, Recalled is a gripping and tense thriller with excellent performances by the actors, and the twist at the end is sure to leave the viewers shocked and disturbed.
