Mitch Brockden, played by Dominic Cooper, is a successful District Attorney who has a bright future ahead of him. However, one night he drives home drunk and hits a man with his car. In a panic, Mitch flees the scene of the accident and tries to forget about it. The next day, Mitch learns that the body has been discovered and he feels guilty for his actions.
The police investigation leads them to a suspect, a man named Clinton Davis, played by Samuel L. Jackson, who was found near the scene of the crime with the victim's blood on his clothes. Mitch decides to prosecute Davis, who maintains his innocence, and the case goes to trial.
During the trial, Mitch realizes that the evidence against Davis is weak and decides to acquit him. However, as soon as the trial is over, Mitch learns that Davis is indeed guilty and has committed several other murders. Mitch is wracked with guilt and sets out to catch Davis before he can kill again.
As Mitch delves deeper into the case, he discovers that he is being stalked by the killer and his life is in danger. Mitch must use all of his skills as a prosecutor to outsmart the killer and bring him to justice.
Reasonable Doubt is a taut, suspenseful thriller that keeps the audience guessing until the very end. With strong performances from Cooper and Jackson, the film is a gripping tale of guilt, redemption, and the search for the truth.
