Really Love is a romantic drama film directed by Angel Kristi Williams and co-written by Williams and Felicia A. Pride. The film follows the story of Isaiah, a talented and ambitious Black painter, as he tries to make a name for himself in the competitive art world of Washington D.C. Meanwhile, he meets Stevie, an ambitious law student who is determined to succeed in her career.
As Isaiah struggles to find his place in the art world, he battles with the pressure to conform to the expectations of his community, family, and art world. However, when Isaiah meets Stevie, he is introduced to a new way of looking at life and love. The two embark on a passionate romance that has the potential to change their lives forever.
As they navigate their relationship, Isaiah and Stevie confront the challenges of balancing their careers, their families' expectations, and their own desires. The film explores themes of love, self-discovery, and the complex realities of being a Black artist in America.
Rob Morgan stars as Isaiah, while Kofi Siriboe plays Stevie. Other notable cast members include Yootha Wong-Loi-Sing, Blair Underwood, Naturi Naughton, Suzzanne Douglas, and Michael Ealy. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2020 and was released on Netflix on August 25, 2021.
