In Rats: Night of Terror, the survivors of the nuclear apocalypse have formed two separate communities. The underground society consists of people who were able to find shelter in bunkers and other subterranean structures. Meanwhile, the scavengers above ground must brave the dangers of the wastelands to scrounge for supplies.

A group of scavengers, led by the charismatic Kurt, stumble upon a seemingly abandoned town while searching for food and water. Upon closer inspection, they realize that the town is infested with mutated rats that are grotesquely large and fiercely aggressive.

As the scavengers attempt to navigate through the town, they encounter various obstacles including traps set by previous inhabitants and a hostile rival group. Moreover, the rats become increasingly aggressive and begin attacking the scavengers in vicious ways.

The movie features plenty of gory and gruesome scenes as the scavengers battle the rats and each other. Additionally, the relationships between the group members are explored as they struggle to survive together in a post-apocalyptic world.

Although Rats: Night of Terror received mixed reviews upon its release in 1984, it has since gained a cult following among fans of horror and post-apocalyptic movies.
