Rapturious is a low-budget, independent horror film released in 2007. It is a surreal and wicked tale about a young white rapper named Rapturious (played by Robert Oppel). Rapturious is desperately trying to make it big in the hip-hop world, but his music career seems to be going nowhere.
Frustrated and disillusioned, Rapturious starts to indulge in a wild and dangerous lifestyle. He snorts cocaine, smokes weed, and pops pills, all to escape the monotony of his everyday life. However, his drug-fueled escapades take a dark turn when he starts to have disturbing hallucinations.
In these hallucinations, he sees himself committing gory and violent crimes with a chainsaw. He goes on a killing spree, picking off anyone who gets in his way, including his fellow rappers and friends. However, as the line between reality and fantasy blurs, it becomes unclear whether Rapturious is really committing these murders or if it is all in his head.
The film also features appearances by veteran actors such as Debbie Rochon and Reggie Bannister. While the plot and production values may not be top-notch, Rapturious offers a unique and twisted take on the horror genre. It combines horror and hip-hop in a way never seen before, making it a memorable viewing experience for fans of both genres.
