Rapture is a 1999 Spanish drama film directed by Iván Zulueta. The film tells the story of José Sirgado, a filmmaker who is struggling with heroin addiction. He lives in a small apartment in Madrid, where he spends most of his time watching movies, smoking cigarettes, and shooting up. His films are dark, moody, and deeply personal, but they are never shown in theaters or festivals.

One day, José receives a package in the mail containing several reels of film. The sender is a mysterious figure named Pedro, who shares José's passion for cinema. José is ecstatic to have found a kindred spirit, and he eagerly watches the films. They are strange and beautiful, full of surreal imagery and abstract soundscapes. José becomes obsessed with Pedro's work and begins to see the world around him through a different lens. He starts to believe that there is a hidden world just beneath the surface of everyday reality, waiting to be discovered.

As José's addiction worsens, he begins to lose touch with reality. His films become more and more bizarre and experimental, and his behavior becomes increasingly erratic. He starts to see strange visions and hears mysterious voices that only he can hear. As he sinks deeper into his drug-fueled delusions, he begins to lose his grip on reality altogether.

Rapture is a dark and twisted journey through the mind of a deeply troubled individual. It is a film about addiction, obsession, and the power of cinema to transform our perception of the world around us. The movie is a must-see for fans of avant-garde cinema and experimental storytelling.
