As tensions rise between Québec and the rest of Canada following the successful sovereignty referendum, the situation at the border checkpoint becomes increasingly volatile. The two indigenous women, one Cree and one from the Maliseet nation, find themselves caught in the middle of the escalating conflict.
Despite their efforts to remain neutral and continue crossing the border for personal reasons, they are eventually drawn into the larger political struggle.
