Pusher

Crime,Thriller  United Kingdom

The drug dealer in question is Frank, a suave and ambitious young man who has been making a living selling cocaine to wealthy clients. His latest score, however, doesn't go as planned, and he finds himself owing a considerable sum of money to Milo, a fearsome criminal overlord who demands immediate repayment.

Frank tries every trick in the book to raise the cash, from pawning his belongings to stealing from his own mother, but nothing seems to work. Along the way, he alienates his friends and associates, including his hapless sidekick Tony and his ex-girlfriend Flo, who is now dating one of Milo's top enforcers.

As the days tick by, Frank descends into a spiral of desperation and paranoia, having to contend with not only Milo and his henchmen but also the rival drug dealers who see an opportunity to seize his territory. With each new setback, Frank becomes more erratic and unpredictable, lashing out at anyone who stands in his way.

The film is a tense and gritty portrait of the criminal underworld in modern-day London, with director Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive) employing a raw, handheld style that puts the viewer right in the thick of the action. It's a world where loyalty and trust are in short supply, and where one wrong move can mean the difference between life and death. As Frank's situation grows more dire, it becomes clear that he has only one option left: to confront Milo and try to negotiate his way out of the mess he's made. But in a world where violence is the only language that everyone understands, can he hope to survive?
