Punished is a 2011 Hong Kong crime thriller film directed by Law Wing-cheong. The movie follows the story of Wong Ho-Chiu, a wealthy real estate tycoon who becomes devastated when his daughter Daisy is kidnapped and murdered. In his search for justice, Wong turns to his trusted bodyguard Chor and orders him to seek out the perpetrators and exact revenge.
Chor is a skilled and loyal bodyguard who takes on the task of tracking down the kidnappers. He uses his intelligence and fighting skills to track them down one by one. Throughout the film, Chor is seen as a calm and determined individual who is determined to carry out his boss's wishes no matter what the consequences.
As Wong's list of targets dwindles down, he becomes more obsessed with the need for retribution. He orders Chor to film each killing, so he can relive the revenge later. Wong even goes to the extent of dressing up as a delivery man to personally kill the last perpetrator.
However, things take a different turn when Wong uncovers the perpetrator's past and begins to question his decision. He realizes that there are no winners in this game of revenge and that it will only lead to more pain and suffering.
Punished is a gritty and intense movie that offers a unique take on the revenge genre. The film is well-paced, with strong performances by Anthony Wong and Richie Ren.
