Amy is a successful novelist who has made a name for herself in the city. However, after her grandfather, Tom, falls ill, she returns to her small hometown to take care of him and his struggling pumpkin-themed store "Pumpkin Everything".
While back in her hometown, Amy bumps into a man from her past, Jesse, who used to work for her grandfather and had a crush on her. Jesse is now a successful businessman who has returned to the town to help his father with his pumpkin farm.
As Amy tries to bring back life to the store and take care of her grandfather, she also finds herself drawn to Jesse, who seemed to be the one that got away. However, Amy's plans are threatened when her job in the city calls her back and Jesse is offered a job in another town.
With the help of her grandfather and the people of the town, Amy tries to salvage the store and her relationship with Jesse before it's too late. In the end, she learns that sometimes, the things that make us happy aren't what we expect them to be, and sometimes we need to let go of our plans to embrace our true purpose in life.
