Mother's Skeleton: Norman's Psychotic Secret

Horror,Thriller  United States of America

Psycho III is a 1986 horror film and the third installment in the Psycho franchise.

The movie takes place several years after the events of the second film, and Norman Bates (played by Anthony Perkins) is still running the Bates Motel. He is struggling to keep the place open due to a lack of customers, and his mental state is deteriorating as he becomes increasingly fixated on his deceased mother.

Meanwhile, a young nun named Maureen (played by Diana Scarwid) is on the run from her convent after having a crisis of faith. She ends up at the Bates Motel and strikes up a friendship with Norman, who is immediately taken with her resemblance to his mother.

As Norman and Maureen become closer, a nosy journalist named Tracy Venable (played by Robyn Lively) comes to town to investigate Norman's past. She uncovers some disturbing information about his relationship with his mother, and her presence triggers a series of violent and terrifying events.

Throughout the film, Norman is haunted by visions of his mother and struggles to keep his dark impulses under control. The climax of the movie sees him confronting his inner demons in a brutal and bloody showdown.

Psycho III is notable for being directed by Anthony Perkins himself, who also reprises his iconic role as Norman Bates. The film received mixed reviews upon its release but has since gained a cult following among horror fans.
