Psych 2: Lassie Come Home is the second movie based on the popular USA Network television series Psych. The movie picks up a few years after the events of the series finale, with Shawn Spencer and Burton "Gus" Guster returning to their old stomping grounds in Santa Barbara after receiving a call from their friend and former police chief, Carlton Lassiter.
Lassiter, now the head of the Santa Barbara Police Department, is investigating a suspicious death at a local vineyard when he is suddenly ambushed and shot. The attack leaves him in critical condition and causes Shawn and Gus to team up with his interim replacement, newly-appointed Chief Betsy Brannigan, to find out who is behind the attack and why.
Throughout their investigation, Shawn and Gus encounter a variety of eccentric characters, including a ghostly apparition who appears to be haunting the vineyard where Lassiter was attacked. As they delve deeper into the case, they discover that the attack on Lassiter may be linked to a wider conspiracy involving a powerful billionaire and his troubled family.
With plenty of trademark Psych humor and hijinks, including a memorable cameo from original cast member Timothy Omundson, Psych 2: Lassie Come Home is a joyous and satisfying return to the world of the beloved series.
