Promare is an anime film produced by Studio Trigger and directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi. The movie is set in a futuristic world where humans with pyrokinetic abilities, called Burnish, have suddenly appeared. Galo Thymos, a young and hot-headed member of the Burning Rescue Fire Department, is determined to put an end to the Burnish and their destructive activities.
As Galo and his team try to save the city from the fires that the Burnish cause, a mysterious organization called Mad Burnish suddenly appears. They are a group of Burnish who refuse to be under human control and want to see the world burn. The group's leader, Lio Fotia, challenges Galo to a fight. During the battle, Galo learns that the Burnish are not the ruthless monsters he thought they were, and that the conflict between the two sides is rooted in something much deeper.
