Max has spent the majority of his life in prison and has become a hardened criminal. However, when he is diagnosed with terminal cancer, he realizes that he wants to try to make amends for his past mistakes and connect with his family.
Max's daughter, Sarah, has also struggled with addiction and has not seen her father in years. She is hesitant to reconnect with Max, but eventually agrees to meet with him. Max is overjoyed to reunite with his daughter, but he quickly learns that Sarah's ex-husband, Joe, has resurfaced and is once again causing problems.
Joe is a violent and abusive drug addict who has tormented Sarah for years. Max sees the pain that Joe has caused his daughter and decides that he must take action to protect her. As Max tries to protect his family, his violent past comes back to haunt him and threatens to destroy everything he has been working towards.
The film follows Max's journey as he tries to reconcile with his daughter, protect his family from Joe, and come to terms with his own violent past. Through it all, Max must confront the choices he has made and the person he has become, and decide whether he will continue on his current path or try to make a change before it's too late.
