Prince Valiant is a 1997 adventure film directed by Anthony Hickox. It is based on the comic strip of the same name created by Hal Foster in 1937. The movie follows the story of a young Viking prince named Valiant who aspires to become a knight in King Arthur's Court. His father, King Aguar of Thule, has been exiled by the evil sorcerer Sligon, who has taken over the throne.
Valiant sets out on a quest to restore his father to his rightful place as king. Along the way, he meets Sir Gawain, one of King Arthur's knights, and falls in love with his daughter Aleta. Valiant must prove himself worthy of becoming a knight by facing various challenges and obstacles. He is tested both physically and mentally, but his determination and courage help him overcome them.
In his fight against Sligon, Valiant also gets help from Merlin, the wise and powerful wizard. Merlin provides Valiant with a magical sword that helps him defeat Sligon and restore the throne to his father. Valiant becomes a true hero and is knighted by King Arthur himself.
