Prince of Darkness is a 1987 horror film directed by John Carpenter. The movie begins with a research team led by professor Howard Birack (Victor Wong) who discovers a mysterious cylinder hidden in the basement of a deserted church in Los Angeles. As they investigate the cylinder, they find it contains a green liquid that has an incredibly powerful energy force. They soon realize that the energy force is actually the essence of Satan himself and the liquid is his blood.
As they continue to study the cylinder, the team becomes haunted by mysterious messages and visions that appear to be a warning of the impending doom the discovery of the cylinder could bring. As they delve deeper into their analysis, they discover that the Satan's blood is intelligent and is attempting to bring about the end of the world by possessing and controlling those around it.
The team, consisting of grad students and specialists in various fields such as physics and philosophy, try to contain the liquid and prevent it from spreading. However, they struggle to keep the blood at bay and ultimately must face off against the possessed members of their own team who attempt to kill them.
The film culminates in a climactic showdown between the team and Satan himself, who has been attempting to enter the world through the body of one of his followers. The film ultimately ends on a mysterious note as the team returns to their daily lives, unsure of whether their efforts were enough to prevent the ultimate end of the world.
