Darcy Fitzwilliam is a successful New York businesswoman who has spent her entire life trying to impress her father, who she believes favors her younger brother. When her father falls ill, Darcy returns home for Christmas and begins to realize that her priorities are out of order. She runs into her old high school rival, Luke Bennett, who now owns a popular restaurant in town. Darcy and Luke are asked to organize the town's annual Christmas festival together, something that neither of them is thrilled with.
As Darcy starts to spend more time with her family and Luke, she begins to reevaluate what she wants in life and sees the importance of family and community for the first time. Darcy also realizes that her father isn't the cold and unloving man she's always believed he was and works to mend their relationship.
As Darcy and Luke plan the holiday festival, they begin to find common ground and start to develop feelings for each other. However, Darcy is hesitant to start a relationship with Luke, feeling that she needs to prove herself on her own before becoming involved with anyone.
The town's Christmas festival is a huge success, and Darcy and Luke share a romantic moment under the mistletoe. Darcy decides to stay in town for a little longer to spend time with her family and Luke, and she finally realizes that sometimes letting go of pride and prejudices can lead to unexpected love and happiness.
