The main character in Pretty Smart is a teenage girl named Charli. She is forced by her wealthy father to attend a finishing school in the Mediterranean, despite her protests that she would rather attend a regular high school in the US. The school is run by an older man named Monsieur LePlanche, who is strict and demanding.
Charli immediately rebels against the rules of the school, refusing to wear the school uniform and getting into verbal confrontations with Monsieur LePlanche. She also makes friends with some of the other girls at the school, including a shy girl named Margaux and a rebellious girl named Bambi.
As Charli continues to cause trouble, she discovers that Monsieur LePlanche has been secretly photographing the girls while they shower and change clothes. He is then selling the photos on the black market for large sums of money.
Charli decides to take action and rallies the other girls to stand up against Monsieur LePlanche. Together, they plot a revenge scheme that involves stealing the photos and exposing him to the authorities. Along the way, Charli also falls in love with a handsome local boy named Paolo.
Eventually, the plan succeeds and Monsieur LePlanche is arrested. Charli and her friends are deemed heroines for standing up against him and protecting themselves and their privacy. The movie ends with Charli returning home to the US with a new sense of confidence and empowerment.
