Pretty Poison is a dark and twisted crime thriller that was released in 1968. The movie centers around a handsome and charming young man named Dennis Pitt (played by Anthony Perkins) who is just being released from a mental institution. He decides to start a new life and moves to a small town where nobody knows him.
One day, Dennis meets a beautiful and innocent high school girl named Sue Ann Stepanek (played by Tuesday Weld). He tells her that he's a secret agent who is on a top secret mission, and she immediately becomes infatuated with him. Dennis convinces Sue Ann that her town is being threatened by a chemical company and that he needs her help to stop them.
As the two of them embark on their dangerous mission, it becomes clear that Dennis is not who he says he is and that he's actually a dangerous sociopath. He starts to manipulate Sue Ann and drag her deeper and deeper into his twisted plot, and it's only a matter of time before things spiral out of control.
Pretty Poison is a well-crafted psychological thriller that keeps the audience guessing until the very end. The movie is able to maintain a sense of tension throughout, and the chemistry between Perkins and Weld is both believable and disturbing. The ending is both shocking and satisfying, and it's a reminder that sometimes the people we trust the most can be the ones who hurt us the most.
