In the movie Pretenders, Jasper, Hannah, and Nick are three friends who have always felt like outcasts and losers. They decide to create fake identities for themselves in order to reinvent themselves and live out their wildest fantasies.
Jasper becomes "Jay," a confident and carefree gay man who is looking for love on the beach. Hannah becomes "Hailey," a wealthy heiress who is on vacation to relax and party. Nick becomes "Nico," a rugged and mysterious artist who is looking for inspiration for his next masterpiece.
As they navigate their new identities, they quickly realize that lying, stealing, and scheming are not as easy as they thought. They get into a series of hilarious misadventures as they try to maintain their fake personas while also keeping up with their own personal goals and desires.
Amid all the chaos, the three friends also begin to question their own identities and whether or not they are truly happy with who they really are.
Filled with sun, sand, and plenty of LGBTQ representation, Pretenders is a fun and heartwarming comedy that celebrates the beauty of being true to oneself.
