The movie Presence of Mind follows the story of a governess named Camilla, played by Sadie Frost, who is hired by a wealthy couple to take care of their two children, Nicolas and Olivia. The family lives in a remote estate in the Spanish countryside, surrounded by vast and eerie landscapes.
As soon as she arrives, Camilla senses that something is off about the house and the children. Nicolas and Olivia are extremely obedient and show no emotion. They move and speak in a robotic and eerie manner, which alarms Camilla. Furthermore, she becomes convinced that the grounds are haunted by the ghosts of former inhabitants and that the children are being influenced by malevolent forces.
Despite her growing suspicion, Camilla tries to adapt to her new surroundings and carry out her duties. She spends most of her time with Nicolas and Olivia, teaching them and organizing games and activities. However, as time passes, the children's behavior becomes increasingly odd and manipulative. They start playing disturbing mind games with Camilla, and she realizes that they are not who they appear to be.
As Camilla tries to unravel the truth about the children's past and the haunting of the estate, she becomes entangled in a web of dark secrets and evil forces. The more she uncovers, the more dangerous and terrifying her situation becomes. Ultimately, Camilla must confront the horror lurking in the estate and save herself and the children from the presence of evil before it's too late.
