Dutch (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger) leads a team of elite commandos, including Dillon (Carl Weathers) and Blain (Jesse Ventura), on a mission to rescue hostages held by guerrilla fighters in the dense jungle of Val Verde. Upon arriving, they discover that the guerrillas have been slaughtered and skinned, leading them to suspect that a highly skilled predator is responsible for the massacre.
As the team continues their mission, they come across increasingly gruesome scenes of death, all pointing to the same predator. The tension rises as the predator picks off the commandos one by one, with only the strongest surviving.
Dillon confesses to Dutch that the mission was not just about rescuing hostages, but also about capturing the live predator as a weapon for the US military. Dutch is furious at being manipulated, but it is too late to turn back now.
