The movie takes place following the defeat of the villainous Fusion by the 28 Pretty Cures from previous seasons. The city of Minato Mirai in Yokohama is celebrating their victory, with girls everywhere mimicking their favorite Cures. However, the new transfer student, Ayumi, feels left out and isolated as she doesn't have a favorite Cure like everyone else.
One day on the way home from school, Ayumi meets a creature named Fuu-chan, whom she befriends and names. Unbeknownst to Ayumi, Fuu-chan is actually a piece of Fusion and holds the power of darkness. In an effort to make Ayumi happy, Fuu-chan swallows up everything that Ayumi dislikes and creates chaos in school and throughout the city.
The 28 Pretty Cures are called upon once again to help Ayumi and stop Fuu-chan's rampage. As they work together, they discover that the key to stopping Fuu-chan is to help Ayumi express her true feelings and desires. With the power of friendship and the miraculous light of the Pretty Cures' combined powers, they are able to defeat Fuu-chan and save the city from darkness once more.
The movie serves as a celebration of the Pretty Cure franchise and brings together characters from various seasons. It also explores themes of friendship, acceptance, and the importance of expressing oneself truthfully.
