The agent in question is Tasya Vos, played by Andrea Riseborough. She is a top-level operative for the shadowy organization, tasked with carrying out high-risk assassinations. However, instead of physically carrying out the killings herself, Tasya uses cutting-edge brain-implant technology to inhabit the bodies of other people.
The process is invasive and dangerous, involving the implantation of a device into the host's brain. Tasya must undergo a rigorous mental conditioning process to prepare for the transfer, but even so, the experience of inhabiting another person's body can be disorienting and traumatic.
As the story unfolds, Tasya is assigned a new mission: to take over the body of Colin Tate (Christopher Abbott), the fiancé of a wealthy businesswoman named Ava Parse (Tuppence Middleton). Ava's father is a powerful figure in the tech world, and she wants him dead so that she can inherit his fortune.
Tasya takes over Colin's body and begins planning the assassination, but things start to go awry as she begins to experience hallucinations and lose grip on her own identity. The line begins to blur between Tasya and Colin, as she struggles to maintain control and complete her mission.
Meanwhile, Colin's own consciousness fights back against Tasya, leading to a tense psychological battle between the two competing personalities. The result is a deeply unsettling and visceral thriller, exploring themes of identity, power, and the ethics of using technology to control other people's bodies.
