The movie Possession follows the life of Jess, a woman who is happily married to Ryan. One day, while driving with her brother-in-law Roman, they get into a terrible car accident that sends both Roman and Ryan into comas. Jess is left to pick up the pieces of her shattered life and care for her comatose loved ones.
Things take a strange turn when Roman wakes up from his coma, but he believes he is Ryan. Jess is hesitant at first but eventually decides to go along with it, hoping that it will help Roman recover. However, as time goes on, Roman's behavior becomes increasingly erratic and violent.
