Posse

Western  United States of America

Posse is a Western action movie directed by and starring Mario Van Peebles. The film follows the story of Jesse Lee (Van Peebles), a tough marshal with political ambitions who leads an elite posse to capture a notorious train robber named Jessie Lee Townsend (Stephen Baldwin) and his gang.

Jesse is a Civil War veteran who fought for the Union Army, and he is determined to prove his loyalty and bravery by capturing Jessie. He assembles a posse of other war veterans, including a Native American tracker named Obobo (Big Daddy Kane), a skilled sharpshooter named Little J (Tiny Lister Jr.), and a former slave turned bank manager named Father Time (Melvin Van Peebles).

The posse sets out on a dangerous mission to capture Jessie and his gang, who are hiding out in Mexico. Along the way, they encounter various challenges, including a band of ruthless Mexican bandits, corrupt lawmen, and a group of Confederate soldiers who still hold a grudge against Jesse and his comrades.

As they get closer to their target, Jesse begins to question his own motives and realizes that the line between good and bad is not as clear as he had thought. The final showdown between the posse and the robbers is violent and bloody, and it's unclear which side will come out on top.

Posse is a thrilling and action-packed Western movie that explores themes of loyalty, honor, and betrayal. It also features a diverse cast of characters, including several people of color in prominent roles, which was rare for a Western film at the time of its release in 1993.
