Portal is a horror film directed and written by Dean Alioto. The film revolves around the character of Travis, an ambitious ghost hunter who, along with his team, performs a risky ritual to open a portal to the other side. However, things quickly spiral out of control when they find themselves trapped in a fight for survival against an ancient demonic force that has been unleashed from the other side.
Travis, played by Ryan Merriman, becomes obsessed with capturing evidence of the paranormal. He assembles a team of fellow ghost hunters and sets out to capture evidence of a haunting in an abandoned laboratory that was once used for government experiments. It is there that Travis performs the ritual which creates a portal to the other side.
As soon as the portal is opened, the team realizes they have made a grave mistake. They are quickly beset by strange, violent occurrences, and the demonic force that has been unleashed is much stronger than they had anticipated. As the team becomes trapped in the laboratory, fighting for their lives, they begin to suspect that the ritual may have awakened an evil that even they cannot defeat.
As they investigate the lab further, they learn that the experiments that took place were far more sinister than they could have ever imagined. The demon they have awakened was the result of a dangerous government project, and it has now been released into the world. The team must use all of their survival skills and knowledge of the paranormal to try and defeat the demon before it destroys them all.
Portal is a suspenseful and terrifying film that explores the consequences of ambition and the lengths people are willing to go to in order to capture evidence of the paranormal.
