Polisse

Drama  France

Polisse is a French drama film that was released in 2011. The film follows the daily lives of the BPM, or Brigade de Protection des Mineurs, which is a unit of the French police department responsible for protecting and investigating crimes against minors.

The main character of the film is Fred, played by actor JoeyStarr. Fred is a veteran police officer who leads the BPM team and is responsible for training new recruits. Throughout the film, Fred and his team deal with a range of cases, such as child molestation, domestic abuse, and neglect.

In addition to the daily investigations, the team must also deal with the emotional toll of their work. They struggle to maintain a work-life balance, and some members have personal issues that affect their performance. Meanwhile, a photographer named Melissa is brought in to document the team’s daily routines, adding an extra layer of pressure to an already stressful job.

The film’s title, Polisse, is a slang term used in French to mean “police” or “cops” and is derived from the word “police” itself. The film is inspired by real-life cases that were investigated by the BPM in Paris.

Polisse received critical acclaim, earning the Jury Prize at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. The film’s realistic portrayal of the emotional and psychological toll of police work and its handling of sensitive subject matter has been praised by audiences and critics alike.
