In Pokemon: Gotta Dance!, Jesse, James, and Meowth are eager to impress their boss, Giovanni, by presenting their newly-built Team Rocket headquarters. To achieve this, they have captured some Whismur Pokemon and forced them to dance with maracas to entertain the guests at the grand gala. The Whismur are distressed and wish to be free.
Meanwhile, Ash, Pikachu, and their friends are traveling through the area and accidentally stumble upon the Team Rocket headquarters. They hear the Whismur's cries for help and decide to rescue them. The gang must navigate through various obstacles and traps set up by Team Rocket to reach the Whismur's cell.
As they free the Whismur, a party-filled musical sequence commences, with both the good guys and the bad guys unable to resist the urge to dance. However, Team Rocket realizes their captives are escaping and activate their security measures to stop the gang from leaving with the Whismur.
The gang must evade the traps and obstacles and fight off Team Rocket's Pokemon in an exciting battle sequence. With the help of their own Pokemon, they manage to overcome the obstacles and successfully escape with the Whismur. The movie concludes with a happy ending, with the Whismur finally free from captivity and happily dancing with their rescuers.
