Pocahontas: Quest for Peace and Unity

Adventure,Animation,Romance,Family  United States of America

The film begins with Pocahontas receiving a message from John Smith's friend, John Rolfe, informing her of Smith's death. Pocahontas is heartbroken and decides to travel to England with Rolfe to meet with King James and request that the English settlers stop their aggression towards her people.

Once they arrive in London, Pocahontas is presented to the English court as a princess, although she is still grieving and uncomfortable in her new surroundings. She meets the King and he agrees to hear her plea for peace, but Governor Ratcliffe also makes an appearance and attempts to discredit Pocahontas by spreading lies about her people and their traditions.

Against this backdrop, Pocahontas has a chance encounter with John Rolfe's young son, Thomas, and the two become friends. Pocahontas also becomes interested in the new customs she encounters in England, particularly the idea of "civilized" behavior and the roles of men and women.

Despite the opposition from Ratcliffe and the court, Pocahontas perseveres and ultimately convinces the King to grant her request for peace. She also falls in love with John Rolfe, realizing that her heart has moved on from John Smith.

The film ends with Pocahontas and John Rolfe returning to Virginia, where they are met by members of her tribe who are overjoyed to see their princess return. Pocahontas has changed as a result of her experiences in England, but she remains committed to her people and to creating a lasting peace between them and the English settlers.
