Please Don't Eat the Daisies is a 1960 comedy film directed by Charles Walters and starring Doris Day and David Niven. The film is based on the best-selling book of the same name by Jean Kerr.

The storyline revolves around the titular family, the McKays – Larry (Niven), a well-respected theater critic, his wife Kay (Day), and their four sons, who are cramped up in a small Manhattan apartment. In need of more space, the family decides to move to a sprawling suburban house, causing them to experience an array of changes.

While Kay tries to adjust to suburban life, Larry continues to enjoy his hectic city lifestyle, indulging in late nights on the town and flirtations with Broadway star Deborah Vaughn (Janis Paige). With Larry's infidelity beginning to become more apparent, Kay becomes increasingly concerned about their relationship, causing her to worry about the future of their marriage.

Throughout the film, the McKays encounter various challenges, including the antics of their precocious sons, attempts at redecorating, and managing their busy lives while hoping to maintain their connection. However, it is ultimately the couple’s undying love for one another and commitment to their family that prevail.

Please Don't Eat the Daisies was a commercial and critical success upon its release, praised for its engaging performances, charming humor, and depiction of family life. It has since become a beloved classic and continues to be a favorite of audiences of all ages.
