The movie follows three young men, Cordoba, Santiago, and Mariano, who work as assistants to a taxi driver, Don Ernesto, in Buenos Aires. Together, they plan to rob the taxi driver's passengers, taking a cut of the stolen money as payment for their risk.
However, they soon become dissatisfied with this arrangement, feeling that Don Ernesto is taking too much of their earnings. They decide to start their own robberies, but quickly realize that they are in over their heads.
Their first attempt at a robbery goes awry, with the victim managing to escape and alerting the police. The trio narrowly avoids getting caught and decides to try again, this time targeting a wealthy businessman.
Cordoba, who is the most desperate of the three, hopes that they will be able to steal enough money to start a new life in Uruguay with his pregnant girlfriend Sandra.
However, their plan falls apart when they are confronted by the businessman's bodyguard. In the ensuing scuffle, Cordoba is badly injured, and Santiago is taken into custody by the police.
In the aftermath of the failed robbery, the trio is left to confront the consequences of their actions. Cordoba faces the dilemma of whether to turn himself over to the police or to flee the country with Sandra, while Mariano struggles with his guilt over what they have done.
The movie ends on a somber note, with the three friends contemplating the uncertain future ahead of them.
