Pineapple Express is a 2008 action-comedy film directed by David Gordon Green and starring Seth Rogen and James Franco. Rogen plays Dale Denton, a process server who also happens to be a chronic weed smoker. Franco plays his dealer, Saul Silver, who supplies him with a rare strain of weed called Pineapple Express.

One evening, as Dale pays a visit to Saul to buy some weed, he witnesses a cop named Ted Jones (played by Gary Cole) shoot and kill a rival drug dealer. Panicking, Dale drops his joint containing the Pineapple Express at the scene of the crime, making him and Saul potential targets for the police.

The duo goes on the run, trying to avoid both the police and the drug dealers who want to kill them to cover up their involvement in the murder. Along the way, they encounter a corrupt cop named Carol Brazier (Rosie Perez), a rival drug lord named Red (Danny McBride), and Dale's high school girlfriend, Angie (Amber Heard).

Dale and Saul's "adventures" involve car chases, shootouts, and plenty of cannabis consumption. The movie is known for its over-the-top violence and crude humor, which has divided audiences and critics. Nevertheless, it has become a cult classic in the stoner comedy genre.
