The movie Pin is a psychological thriller that explores the complicated relationship between two siblings and their lifelike medical dummy. Pin, the dummy, becomes an integral part of the brother-sister duo's lives after their parents' death. Leon, the older brother, transfers his own personality into Pin, believing that the dummy is alive and has a personality of its own.
Leon uses Pin to educate Ursula about anatomy, bodily functions, and sex education. But as they grow older, Leon becomes more possessive of Ursula, using Pin as a way to control her life. He uses Pin to scare off potential suitors and keep Ursula dependent on him.
However, as Ursula begins to assert her independence, Leon's obsession with Pin becomes more dangerous. He uses the dummy to commit murders and frame other people for them. Ursula becomes suspicious of her brother's behavior and starts to investigate the truth behind Pin, leading to a shocking climax.
The movie is based on a novel by Andrew Neiderman and directed by Sandor Stern. It stars David Hewlett as Leon, Cynthia Preston as Ursula, and Terry O'Quinn as their father/doctor. Pin's special effects were created by makeup artist Dick Smith, who received critical acclaim for his work on the film.
