Comedy,Drama  Canada

Picture Day is a Canadian coming-of-age drama film directed by Kate Melville. The film features Claire, a rebellious and sarcastic teenager who is forced to repeat her senior year of high school due to her poor grades. She is unhappy with the idea of attending school with younger students and being labelled as a "loser".

Claire is involved in a complicated love triangle between two very different male admirers. The first is Henry, a sensitive and artistic classmate who has a crush on her. The other is Jim, a former classmate who is now a drug dealer. Despite the risks, Claire is drawn to Jim due to their shared sense of rebellion and their shared history.

As Claire navigates her relationships and struggles with her identity, she is also confronted with her dysfunctional family dynamics and her complicated relationship with her mother. Throughout the film, Claire learns to confront her past and embrace her future, finding a sense of belonging and purpose in the process.

The film stars Tatiana Maslany as Claire, with supporting performances from Spencer Van Wyck as Henry and Steven McCarthy as Jim. Picture Day was released in 2012 to critical acclaim, with praise for Maslany's performance and the film's sensitive and authentic portrayal of adolescence.
