In the movie Phantasm, the young boy's name is Mike, and he is joined by his older brother Jody and their friend Reggie as they investigate strange occurrences at the local cemetery. They soon discover that the Tall Man, an undead being with superhuman strength and the ability to manipulate reality, is stealing bodies from the graveyard and transforming them into his army of dwarf-like minions.
As they try to uncover the Tall Man's true intentions and stop his sinister plan, Mike and his friends encounter a series of otherworldly obstacles, including a mysterious silver sphere that can drill into a person's skull and drain their brains, and a portal to another dimension that leads to a twisted parallel universe.
Throughout their journey, the trio must use their wits and weapons to fend off the Tall Man's attacks and stay alive. But as they get closer to the truth, they realize that not everything is as it seems, and even their own perceptions of reality may be in question.
Phantasm was directed and written by Don Coscarelli and was released in 1979. It has since become a cult classic in the horror genre.
