Phantasm III: Lord of the Dead picks up where the second film left off, with Mike (A. Michael Baldwin) and Reggie (Reggie Bannister) on the road in pursuit of their longtime nemesis, the supernatural Tall Man (Angus Scrimm). Along the way, they encounter a young woman named Liz (Gloria Lynne Henry), who has her own personal reasons for wanting to take down the Tall Man.
As they journey through small towns and abandoned mines, Mike and Reggie come across a series of dangerous situations that test their resourcefulness and courage. They also encounter old allies, including the psychic old woman known as the Seer (Ruberta Avila) and the ice cream truck-driving Rocky (Samantha Phillips), as well as new enemies, such as the hooded and axe-wielding Soul Stealer (Kevin Connors).
As they get closer to their ultimate confrontation with the Tall Man, Mike and Reggie uncover more about his true nature and the sinister operation he has been running in secret for years. Along the way, they must also come to terms with their own mortality and the possibility that they may not survive this final battle.
Phantasm III: Lord of the Dead features the same blend of horror, mystery, and surrealism that made the first two films cult classics, with plenty of bloody violence and unsettling imagery to keep fans of the franchise satisfied.
