Peninsula picks up four years after the events of Train to Busan, when a virus outbreak that turned people into zombies ravaged South Korea. The movie follows a former soldier named Jung-seok, who is sent on a mission to return to the infected peninsula to retrieve a truck full of money left behind during the evacuation. Jung-seok is accompanied by a team of mercenaries to navigate the hostile environment, including a tough-as-nails female sniper named Min-jung. The team discovers that the remaining survivors have formed different factions, some of which are heavily armed and dangerous. When Jung-seok and his team are ambushed, they must rely on their survival skills to make it out alive. However, things take a turn for the worse when they are confronted by a ruthless gang that has taken control of the area. The film is a heart-pounding action-packed thriller with intense gunfights, car chases and spectacular zombie mayhem, as the group fights for their lives in a world that is on the brink of total collapse.
