Benson, a straight-laced police detective, is initially hesitant about going undercover as a gay man with his new partner Kerwin, who is more comfortable with his sexuality. Together, they investigate a series of murders targeting members of the gay community in Los Angeles.

Benson struggles to adjust to the flamboyant and colorful culture of the gay community, while Kerwin helps him navigate through it as they try to blend in to gain information. The two eventually become close as partners and develop a strong bond as they solve the case.

Along the way, they encounter a number of challenges, including hostility from some members of the community who are suspicious of their motives, as well as internal conflicts of their own. Benson, who initially felt uncomfortable with the idea of pretending to be gay, begins to confront his own prejudices and stereotypes about the gay lifestyle, while Kerwin learns to have confidence in his own abilities.

As they get closer to unraveling the mystery behind the murders, Benson and Kerwin must put aside their differences and rely on each other to stay alive. In the end, their partnership turns into a true friendship that transcends their sexual orientations, proving that despite their differences, they are more alike than they realize.
