The couple, Katie and Micah, decide to document their experiences with the unknown entity by setting up a video camera in their bedroom every night. As the nights go on, the activity intensifies and becomes more violent, including doors slamming shut and objects moving on their own.
Katie reveals that she has been haunted by this presence since she was a child, and Micah seeks the help of a paranormal investigator. However, the investigator is unable to help and warns them not to provoke the entity.
As the activity grows more dangerous, Micah decides to use a Ouija board to communicate with the entity, which only makes the activity worse. The couple finally seeks the help of a demonologist, but it may already be too late as the entity becomes increasingly powerful and possessive.
The movie ends with a shocking twist that leaves the fate of the couple unknown. The found footage style and low budget of the film added to its tense and terrifying atmosphere, making it a classic in the horror genre.
