Paper Moon is a 1973 American comedy-drama film directed by Peter Bogdanovich, based on the novel Addie Pray by Joe David Brown. The film stars Ryan O'Neal as Moses Pray, a small-time con man who crosses paths with a young girl named Addie Loggins, played by Tatum O'Neal. Addie claims to be the daughter of Moses's former lover, and Moses reluctantly agrees to take her on a cross-country trip to Kansas in exchange for a share of her inheritance.
As they travel together, Moses and Addie develop a strange and unlikely bond, with Moses teaching the young girl the tricks of his trade and Addie proving to be a natural-born grifter herself. Along the way, they encounter a variety of colorful characters, including a bootlegger and a Bible salesman, and find themselves in increasingly dangerous situations as their schemes become more complex.
