Paddleton is a heartwarming and poignant movie about two socially awkward neighbors, Michael and Andy, who form an unlikely friendship. Michael (Mark Duplass) is a middle-aged man who leads a solitary life, finding comfort in watching kung fu movies and playing a made-up game called Paddleton, which involves hitting a ball against a wall. His neighbor Andy (Ray Romano), an introverted and slightly neurotic man, shares his love for Paddleton and becomes Michael's regular Paddleton partner.
Their mundane routine is disrupted when Michael is diagnosed with terminal cancer and decides to end his life on his own terms through medically assisted suicide. Andy, who is initially hesitant and uncomfortable with the idea, eventually agrees to accompany Michael on a road trip to purchase the life-ending medication from a pharmacy in Nevada.
