Law, played by Sean Lau, is a former chauffeur who was jailed for killing a major landowner in a car accident. Law's former employer, Luk, played by Louis Koo, is rumored to have been behind the landowner's death, which gave Luk an advantage in a competitive apartment development deal.
Five years later, Law is released from prison and discovers that Luk's corporation has become even more powerful, while Luk's right-hand man, Keung, played by Daniel Wu, has his own plans to pursue. Law teams up with his former prison mate and computer expert, Joe, played by Kenneth Tsang, to spy on Luk and Keung through wiretapping their mobile phones.
Joe becomes involved with Eva, a single mother played by Zhou Xun, who has a dark history with both Law and Keung. Through their surveillance, Law discovers Keung's plan to change Hong Kong's land development forever, which leads to a suspenseful showdown between the two former colleagues.
As the plot unfolds, the characters reveal their true motives and allegiances, leading to unexpected twists and turns in this tense thriller. Overheard 3 explores themes of power, corruption, and loyalty, as the characters navigate the complex world of high-stakes business dealings and personal vendettas.
